Coach Training EDU Graduate Stories

We’re grateful to have a community of inspiring, curious leaders changing the world every day. Let their stories inspire you.

Adam Stevens

Adam Stevens

Please see Adam Stevens ’s LinkedIn profile here.

As a Reflective Life Coach, I help people slow down, look inward, and reconnect with the parts of themselves that often go unheard. My work is rooted in the belief that we all carry stories—some empowering, some limiting—and that through reflection, curiosity, and intentional systems, we can rewrite those stories into something more authentic and compassionate. I specialize in creating safe, thoughtful spaces where clients feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow. Whether you’re navigating change, building better habits, or simply trying to be a better friend to yourself and others, I serve as a mirror—helping you notice what’s working, what’s holding you back, and what’s possible.

With a background in systems thinking and a passion for emotional growth, I blend structure with soul. My approach is gentle but grounded, intuitive yet practical. I believe that small shifts lead to big transformations, and that every conversation is an opportunity to become a better version of ourselves. If you’re ready to explore your inner world, build meaningful connections, and design a life that reflects who you truly are, I’d be honored to walk that path with you.

Let’s become better friends—starting with ourselves!

Alyn Waller

Alyn Waller

Please see Alyn Waller’s LinkedIn profile here.

Most people don’t realize the magic of coaching until they experience it themselves. That’s how Alyn Waller, CTEDU Certified Executive Coach, started his life coaching journey.

Alyn: “I’ve been pastoring for 30 years and I had the opportunity to experience coaching when I went back to school actually to sharpen my leadership skills so I did a program so Harvard and they have us a coach and I never experienced coaching. I never had a coach, never thought much about it but my experience of having a coach piqued by interest because what I recognized being a counselor for 30 years, I knew these principles it was just different language. Because I have a final degree in marriage and family counseling and so I was like I know this stuff its just different language and used in a different way and this was beneficial for me in my journey of becoming a better leader. And I said you know what I want to do this and pursue this for people.”

Q: What’s your vision for your coaching business?

Alyn: “The vision for my coaching business is empowering leaders to change the world. I believe, you know, everything about this year, everything about right now – we’ve hit an inflection point. Everything from the pandemic, to George Floyd, Breonna Taylor all of that this is our 60s. And we’re going to need leaders who are not just trained in organizational structure but who understand themselves.”

And so when I work with my clients, it’s all about bringing those tools and those insights to the surface, because you just have to unlock that for yourself. Carolyn McGraw

Carolyn McGraw

Please see Carolyn McGraw ’s LinkedIn profile here.

I am a Certified Professional Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and an active member of the organization. My coaching is grounded in a lifetime of experience navigating change, resilience, and reinvention.

My life has been a true adventure—sometimes easy, often challenging, always meaningful. I’ve walked through marriage, raised two children, become a grandmother, served as a full-time caregiver, and relocated multiple times. After the death of my husband of 45 years in 2021, I began asking a powerful question: Who am I now?

I’ve never been afraid to say yes to the unknown. When I married a sailor, I helped him build two ocean-going boats, despite having no sailing or carpentry experience. We lived aboard and sailed across the Pacific, Atlantic, Aegean, and Caribbean. Later, we moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, built a home near the Snake River, and learned to live in harmony with the rugged Tetons, where resilience and cooperation are survival skills.

Wellness has always been a priority. I taught nutrition and yoga to college students for years, and believe good food, movement, and simple habits build vitality at any age.

My professional journey has been equally diverse: teacher, political activist, advisor to UC San Diego CONNECT program, commercial actress, mayoral advisor, board member, elected official, and Partnership Director. Each role required new skills and fresh perspective—and taught me to see failure as growth in disguise.

Life constantly invites us to change. Sometimes we need a coach to help us see the possibilities. I believe we all have the power to choose joy, even in adversity, and to create a meaningful next chapter.

I look forward to hearing your story and walking a part of your journey with you.

Christina Chong, Certified Academic Coach and the Manager of the College Life Coaching Program at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami, shares her experience building out a centralized coaching unit at FIU.

Q: How can an institution benefit from implementing coaching into their student experience?

A: “At FIU now, we have a pretty small coaching team but we’ve made a pretty big impact in that we have tried to spread the coaching philosophy among different student-facing staff members and talk about the importance of the quality of interactions with our students. Our team in itself grew from 1 person to now having a team of 3 coaches in addition to my role as manager. In which we work with students who are struggling academically but lately actually within the last 6 months or so we’ve been having a lot more students self-refer, so they’re not struggling academically, they see the benefit of coaching and they want the opportunity to have free coaching services. Right now we work with about 200 students a semester offering biweekly coaching sessions with undergraduate students.”

Christina: “I would say make sure that you’re heart is in it. I would tell them don’t get in this field for the money, the potential money that you can make. Get into this field because you want to make a difference.”

Life coaching tools and skills are changing the way relationships work everywhere. Certified Academic Life Coach, Farah Radwan, a Professor at Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaxiz University in Saudi Arabia shared her coaching journey with us.

Farah: “I am an Academic Life coach. I also like to think of myself as a Transformational coach. I believe in the importance of someone’s journey. I think if we look around and we listen to people we can be inspired by with what they’re doing, what they have been through, but not a lot of people know what they can do with that journey or how they can navigate it. What I like to do is be that person, be that partner that can help show you the different side of the transition you’re going through and what you can do with that and how you can grow and learn more about yourself going through it.”

Q: What inspired you to become a coach?

Farah: “The more I got to know about coaching, the more I realized how much I need coaching. And then it made such a difference in my life that I wanted to be that difference, that person that makes a difference in someone else’s life. So it didn’t start with me wanting to be a coach, but it ended up definitely with me wanting to spend the rest of my life trying to be a good coach.”

Jamie Spitzer

Jamie Spitzer

Please see Jamie Spitzer’s LinkedIn profile here.

Today I am a Professional Certified Wellness Life Coach that specializes in helping people of all ages evaluate their own story to determine what may be keeping them from the life they envision; but that is not how the journey started. As a child I grew up in a household that was centered around customer service and taking care of others no matter what the need was. We learned quickly from our parents and grandparents the value in what it meant to be there for people when they needed someone the most. At the age of 24, I started a manufacturing business that would allow me to continue this mission of serving others. It has been nearly 30 years since I started, and everyday people come first, and the mission continues.

In 2019 I decided that if I wanted to serve others at a higher level, I first had to look in the mirror and evaluate myself. I quickly learned that I needed to grow and the best way to do that was to become a life coach. For me this journey has been super challenging because I went to work on myself first, but I quickly learned that while this process was difficult it was also super rewarding as well. As your coach, I will help you understand your story and show you some tools that can help you write the next chapter of life the way you want it to be read. Together we will build a safe environment that is filled with resources to help you reach your goals.

Maria Sofia Palmieri

Maria Sofia Palmieri

My name’s Maria Sofia Palmieri. I’m a 28-year-old Italian girl, and I was born and grew up between Rome and Milan. At nine years old, I discovered my passion and decided that I would be an actress. Aside from this dream, I spent a lot of my childhood and my high school years being insecure, even though I had this big aim of becoming an actress. I used to suffer a lot for lack of self-confidence, and I was bullied and mocked at school. As I grew up, my beauty slowly started to bloom, and even if I stuck to feeling insecure, I started taking charge of my life and of my dream.

When I was nineteen, I enrolled in a Drama Academy in Rome. I spent eight years preparing myself as an actor, and I began performing on stage with small productions. At 24 years, I got my first role in a feature film. Then, I spent one year studying at Lee Strasberg Institute in LA. Once I came back in Rome, I went through a painful love relationship. After this break up, I decided to take charge of myself and my internal struggles. So, I started going to therapy for three years, and this really changed my life completely.

I started really loving myself, being respectful to myself, and recognizing my value. It was three years ago that I’ve decided beside therapy to go into personal development. I started reading several books on this topic from authors such as Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy, Richard Bandler. This brought me a profound sense of improvement and enrichment to my life, and I wanted to help others to do the same. That’s why decided to become a life coach.

I enrolled in CTEDU Coach Training and it really fueled me. It gave me fire in my belly. I’ve met such amazing trainers and a beautiful staff that really supported my journey. They gave the structure to put in practice all the things that I have inside of me that I didn’t how to share it in a professional way before.

I’m starting my business, bringing coaching in Fitness. I’m bringing my Group coaching combined with workout, integrating fitness workout and mental workout to Gyms and Fitness Centers. Plus, I’m trying to bring coaching combined with Positive Psychology at Universities and neuroscience centers, both in Europe and the US. It’s a beautiful journey, and what my aim in coaching really is, is giving peace, serenity, and safety to individuals, because I know when we’re feeling safe, we can give our best. – Maria Sofia Palmieri

Roshaunda Cade

Roshaunda Cade

No matter what your passion is, life coaching can be a great step for you to take it to the next level. CTEDU Certified Life Coach Roshaunda Cade, PhD completed the Executive Life Coach training program and paired her passion with education to become a Writing Coach. She spent her whole life in school, either as a student or working with students having taught all kinds of English classes and African American studies classes. However, the work she’s done in education that she has loved the most is being a writing center Director.

Here’s what inspired her to become a writing coach:

“I’ve been a writing coach for a long time and I’ve run writing centers so I definitely understand the technical aspects of helping people with writing. I’ve always been a writer. I’ve always loved to read, I’ve always loved to be around literature and I’ve run writing centers. It’s my profession, it’s what I do and so I’ve always felt like I’m good at helping people write.

And I’ve learned in helping people write that most people don’t have a problem with writing. You know different people are good at different things but most people don’t struggle with writing they struggle with believing that they can write. They struggle with understanding that they have something important to say. They struggle with feeling confident that they can say something and that it will be well received.

So I found that that is a perfect match with life coaching because I have to help people get past whatever limiting beliefs are keeping them from writing.”
